Description

As part of its strategic plan, the Banque de France has positioned innovation as a key vector for transforming the institution. It is therefore seizing on innovation approaches to build new capabilities by opening up to innovative players (start-ups, fintechs, academics, etc.), in particular through experiments carried out in the Lab, its Open Innovation centre (Le Lab). At the same time, the Cyber Campus is a key player in bringing together all the stakeholders in digital security in a totem pole location to protect society and promote French excellence in this field. One of the Campus Cyber's areas of action is to work on developing synergies between public and private players to guide technological innovation and strengthen its integration into the economic fabric.

Against this backdrop, the Banque de France, already a member and resident of the Campus Cyber, is launching a Call for Solutions with the Campus Cyber to work on smart contracts and raise awareness of cyber issues within the ecosystem. The Banque de France and the Cyber Campus are asking the ecosystem to address the following question: how can smart contracts be secured in a decentralised environment such as blockchain?

The aim of this Call for Solutions is both to raise awareness of the cyber risks associated with the misuse of smart contracts and to increase knowledge and the development of solutions to protect against these risks. This call should cover the following areas: - DETECT: detecting vulnerabilities and/or threats during the production or execution of the smart contract - SUPERVISING: monitoring the triggering and activity of smart contracts - PREVENT: prevent the execution of malicious transactions - REMEDY: protect systems and assets after an incident has been detected.
